Videogames as ELearning Software Solutions

Perhaps one of the most underestimated learning opportunities, and mainly shunned upon, by parents and teachers is the value of videogames. Of course there are age brackets when it comes to games; however, the fact that games sharpen the mind’s flexibility and the brain’s response time should always be taken notice. I think it has been ages ago since videogames have been used to let children absorb knowledge and be creative about it. Some companies which focus on elearning software solutions may actually use this kind of tactic.

I still remember those pretend laptops which toddlers use in order to learn their ABCs and 123s. It even has sound to back it up, which of course is followed by these kids who re-mumble it per syllable. Some of these kinds of games become more visual by the upgrade. A good example for this would probably be my baby cousin’s educational toy. He uses this kind of technology to learn his basics with his favorite letter being G while a giraffe eating some tall tree in Africa appears on the screen.

The case maybe different for adults but basically, at its core, it is just really the same thing. E-courses teach just like that, to be exact. Parents and other grown ups understand there are some inappropriate game which children use like shooter games and some role playing games.

Although as the case maybe, through the course of adapting better ways to produce learning materials and games which children both enjoy and learn from should be developed more. And this is more so since videogames are usually on a play alone basis. In videogames there will be objectives to be determined; missions to be cleared, strategies to be used and levels to be reached. Mental self-discipline and as well as a little determination would be required to finish the task. Focus and concentration is also observed and trained through this.

Children will always remember the games they play and thus could be an effective strategy if just given the proper attention and creativity. I say this because educational games are always branded as boring when, on the other hand, these games need not be boring since that’s the developer’s job. If such an obstacle and brand is cleared, it may be that gaming electronic courses can be one of the main pavement of elearning software solutions in the future.
